The War Outside My Window
There is a war outside my window, And I cannot help but note The barbaric nature of such acts And all they wish to promote. They order us to kill one another, Resting atop their gilded thrones. They take away those we hold dearest And rip us from our homes. They sit safely within their castle walls, Promoting their fallacies, Never looking, for more than a moment, Never observing the tragedies. These men let their sons dodge battle, However, if we must go to war, At least have the courage to shed your blood. Defend what you say you stand for.
